Moore County Schools’ first female Police Chief is retiring after many years of public service.
Cheif Roberta Maness was sworn-in January 2016 by Moore County Superior Court Judge James Webb as the new Police Chief of Moore County Schools when she replaced retiring Chief McNeill.
Maness started as a law enforcement officer in 1987 and has worked with the Moore County Schools Police Department since 2000. She became second-in-command in 2013 and was named Moore Couty Schools Police Officer of the Year in 2015.
Maness is a native of Moore County and a graduate of Pinecrest High School. She completed Basic Law Enforcement Training at Montgomery Community College in Troy, N.C.
