Moore Philharmonic Orchestra accepting scholarship applications

Moore Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) announced the annual Non-Member Scholarship. Applicants must be eighth or ninth-grade instrumental music students in Moore County who are not current members of the MPO. Applications are open to public, private, accredited home-school, and charter school students. One scholarship will be awarded for use toward instrument upgrades, music camp tuition, or private lessons.

Scholarship applications and additional details can be downloaded at mporchestra.com starting Monday, April 1. All submissions must be hand-delivered to Wellard Hall by 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18. Only completed applications with all required materials will be accepted. Questions should be directed to [email protected]. MPO invites all applicants to stay for the evening’s scheduled rehearsal.

The scholarship recipient will be announced at the MPO’s spring concert, “Back to the Eighties,” on Saturday, May 18, at 7 p.m. at Pinecrest High School’s R.E. Lee Auditorium.
