There was a collision involving multiple cars in front of Arby’s restaurant in Southern Pines around 4 p.m. on Saturday.
During the accident, rain poured heavily due to a severe thunderstorm. A few vehicles included were a Ford SUV, a Nissan Altima and another SUV.
All southbound traffic and one northbound lane were shut down at the time of the accident. Southern Pines Fire Department was on the scene to assist those injured and direct traffic while tow trucks worked to remove vehicles from the road. Aberdeen Fire Department was also called in for assistance.
Four victims were transported to Moore Regional Hospital with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
At the time of this article, the accident is still under investigation by Southern Pines Police.
