Betty Marie Buchanan Boese, age 75, of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 6:00-8:00pm at Cox Memorial Funeral Home in Vass and other times at the home of Charles and Nellie Griffin, 4394 Ray Road, Spring Lake, NC 28390
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 1:00pm at Hillmon Grove Baptist Church in Cameron. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Betty was born in Harnett County on July 31, 1948 to the late James Hise and Nealer McLean Buchanan. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Horace Moore and husband, Andrew John Boese; sisters, Tommie, Tootie, Mattie Lee and Annie and brothers, John Buchanan and James Buchanan.
She is survived by her children, Angela McLaughlin (Myke) of Sanford, Eddie Moore (Sharon) of Sanford and Sheila Pope (Troy) of Sanford; sisters, Mildred Nellie Griffin (Charles) of Spring Lake and Peggy Sue Griffin of Spring Lake; ten grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Betty was a woman of many talents, which included floral design, wedding planning, singing and even served as an ordained minister. She was well loved by her family and will be greatly missed by all those that loved and knew her.
