Drivers avoid injury after car, Mack truck collide near West End

A two-vehicle crash involving a Mack truck left a car heavily damaged Monday morning at the intersection of N.C. 211 and N.C. 73 in West End.

Crews were dispatched after the crash was reported around 9:40 a.m.

Authorities told a Sandhills Sentinel reporter at the scene that the driver of a Mazda failed to yield while pulling out of the Exxon station at the intersection and attempting to turn left onto N.C. 211.

A Mack truck traveling southbound on the highway was unable to stop and struck the Mazda on the front passenger side and door.
