Carolyn G. Boggs, 87, of Aberdeen passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Terra Bella Assisted Living in Southern Pines on Sunday March 3, 2024.
Carolyn Elaine Griffin was born May 18, 1936 in Sanford, NC to parents Bryce F. Griffin and Ruby B. Griffin of Vass, NC. She moved to Sanford in 1960 and began employment with Heins Telephone Company. She worked as an operator, and then later in the business office for 28 years until the company was sold to Alltel.
In 1991, she returned to the Moore County area settling in the Robins Walk Community of Aberdeen, NC, later serving as a board member of the HOA. She was employed by the Moore County ABC Board, where she served as Manager of the Pinehurst, Aberdeen and Carthage stores until her retirement.
Carolyn enjoyed reading, gardening puzzles and interacting with her friends and neighbors at Robins Walk.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald F. Boggs and her siblings, James W. Griffin and Barbara G. Howell.
She is survived by 2 children, Ann B. Parker (Art) and Stephen E. Boggs(Kaye), 6 grandchildren, Alan Parker (Stacey), Bryce Boggs (Mary Taibi), Brandon Boggs (Sabrina), Matthew Boggs (Sarah), Melissa Julian (Stephen Godfrey), Michael Boggs (Melissa) and 11 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 6-8 PM at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.
A graveside service and burial for family will held at Buffalo Cemetery in Sanford.
