Stella Turney Jacobs, age 79 of Vass, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at FirstHealth Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 12:00pm at Open Arms Community Church in Vass with Pastor John Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 11 until 12. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
Stella enjoyed sewing, yard work, and cooking, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and watching them play sports. She also spent a lot of time with her dear friend Susie Jackson, they enjoyed going to the beach together. She also loved the Lord.
Stella was born in Surry County, North Carolina on November 16, 1946 to the late Clarence Turney and Alma Jester Turney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edwards Jacobs, sisters, Thelma and Dollie, brothers, Jack, Jesse and Junior.
She is survived by her sons, Dennis Edward Jacobs (Tina) of Ellerbe, Ricky Ray Jacobs (Denise) of Troy; grandchildren, Bliss Jacobs (Brandon), Ricky Jacobs II (Jacob), Samantha “Doodle” Jacobs, Summer Jacobs (Baylee); great-grandchildren, Kieran and Grayson; best friend, Susie Jackson.
