A medivac was called for a motorcyclist after a crash in Carthage around noon on Thursday, according to radio traffic.
Witnesses told Sandhils Sentinel that a Jeep Cherokee was sitting in the turning lane on Monroe Street, waiting to turn into Steve’s Pizza. The Jeep then allegedly turned into the oncoming path of the motorcycle heading southeast on Monroe Street.
The driver of the Jeep was unharmed. A landing zone was set up for the motorcyclist at the Pik-N-Pig restaurant on Gilliam McConnell Road in Carthage.
The Southeast lane of Monroe Street was shut down while the wreck was cleared.
Moore County EMS, the Carthage Police Department and the Carthage Fire Department responded.
