Carolyn Louise Kiehl, 83 of Pinehurst, passed away on May 20, 2018 at her home.
Born on February 8, 1935 in Easton, Pennsylvania to the late Oliver and Catherine Reese.
Lyn, as she preferred to be called, was a devote Catholic her entire life and a member of Sacred Heart Church for over 22 years. She was a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She was involved in numerous local clubs to include; Weymouth Society, Pinehurst Country Club, Woman’s College Club, Book Club, and many antique clubs. She enjoyed reading, horseracing, golfing and watching some of her favorite sports teams to include the Detroit Lions and Red Wings.
Lyn had such a sense of humor and was truly a loyal friend to everyone she met. Her family will remember her loving heart and her positive outlook on life. She was a woman who never had anything bad to say about anyone.
In addition to her parents, Lyn was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Berg Kiehl in 2010; son, James Richard Kiehl in 2016; and brother, James Oliver Reese in 1998. Upon which she really withdrew to herself with her faith and prayers. She did however continue to have unwavering love and support for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her three daughters, Ann Kiehl, Caroline Tortolani husband Stephen and Jane Novach husband Greg; brother, Thomas J. Reese wife Ann; and six grandchildren, Antone and Thomas Gaschler Christopher, John, Lucy Tortolani, and Oliver Dichtel.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 11:00 am. Inurnment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
