Christopher Henry Prentice, age 64, of Southern Pines, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, at Atrium Health-Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC from various chronic illnesses.
Chris was born in Corning, New York, on March 13, 1961, and was the only child of Marie Fraizer Prentice and Richard Prentice. He lived in many states over the years, eventually having settled in North Carolina approximately 20 years ago. He was very active in his church and found joy leading bible study groups and volunteering for the video and sound team. He enjoyed sharing the love of God and the salvation of Jesus Christ with everyone.
Chris was a 1979 graduate of Corning Painted Post West High School and a 1982 graduate of Ft. Wayne Bible College in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He was a highly experienced TV Video Editor having worked for CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) edited the opening of the 700 Club which is still used today (with only minor revisions); ESPN edited the Indy 500-Indianapolis; Victory Christian Fellowship, edited the pastoral training courses for the School of Biblical Studies; Washington DC edited political campaign advertising for election candidates; Orphans of Kenya, Technical Coordinator for a chain of NC thrift stores; Turning Point Worship Center and Turning Point Ministries, Media Director; Sandhills Sentinel, News Reporter as well as having his own Web design business for many years. During his career, his work earned an Addy (American Advertising Award) and a Clio (Excellence in Advertising, Design and Communication) of which he was so proud.
Chris is survived by his three children, Rachel Michelle Prentice, Grace Anne Prentice and Jonathan Christopher Prentice, all out of state; many loving friends who over the years considered themselves family, and his beloved cat Pixel who was by his side in sickness and in health, comforting him through these past four years during his hardest health challenges.
