Jack Putnam Huff, 88, of Aberdeen, went home to his Lord on Wednesday, May 13th.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Shiloh Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 6197 Aberdeen Rd, Raeford on Saturday, May 23rd at 2:00 p.m.
Born in Hoke County, he was the son of the late Denver and Sarah Putnam Huff. Jack had a desire for farming that drove him to start working at a young age. He loved his Lord and served Him faithfully for many years at the Shiloh Presbyterian Church in Raeford. Jack had been a deacon there and could be considered a kingpin of the church’s “In Gatherings”. On January 18, 1958, he married Betty Delores Thomas, and together they raised their 3 children. Jack had a heart for service to others and would do anything for anyone, anywhere, at any time. He was loved by so many.
In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Thomas Huff; brothers D.R. Huff, Jr. and Bobby Huff, and sister, Joann Williams. Jack is survived by his daughter Kim Johnson (husband Hil) of Christiansburg, VA and sons Chris Huff, of Aberdeen and Michael Huff (wife Justine) of Jackson Springs. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren: Morgan, Sierra, Tyler, Hailey, Erin, Amber, Sydney, Somer and Elijah and his 5 great – grandchildren: Peyton, Tenley, Jack, Avett and Megan.
Jack’s family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love and care he received while at the Accordius Health of Aberdeen (formerly Kingswood).
