Jamie Maurice Martin, 55, of 103 Martin Lane, Carthage, NC, passed on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020 at his home. Born on March 8, 1965, he was the son of the late Willie R. Martin “Bill” and Carthenia Bernice Atkins Martin “Skip”.
Jamie attended Cameron Elementary School, Cameron NC and Union Pines High School, Carthage, NC, where established live-long relations with local childhood friends that he maintained and treasured. Upon graduation from Union Pines High, he entered the United States Air Force and retired honorably after over 22 years of dedicated service. He settled in Carthage, NC at the Martin Family Home place until his death.
Jamie loved his family, friends and children. He loved hunting, tinkering on motors of any kind, and “Down Home Blues” music. He was always involved in family holiday gatherings, reunions and local activities until his health declined.
He is survived by sons, SPC, Dayquon Martin of Fort Bragg, NC (Cheyene); Dejaroie Black of Charleston, SC; sisters, Thurlia Martin of Sanford, NC; Eydie Martin of Durham, NC; brother, Michael Martin of Roanoke, VA, infant grandson, Kameron Martin and brother in-law, Andrae McLeod of Sanford, NC. Also left to cherish his memory are many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Jamie was a good-hearted person that will always be cherished in our hearts and sorely missed.
Funeral services will be hold on Thursday, December 17, at 10am in the chapel of Pugh & Smith Funeral Home. Interment follow at 12 noon in the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Bragg, NC.
