Charles (Chuck) Oscar Moeser of Pinehurst passed away on December 31, 2025.
Chuck was born on June 14,1937 in Huntington, WV, to the late Oscar F. Moeser and V. Virginia Boliek Moeser.
Chuck graduated from Huntington East High School in June 1955. For 6 years he had a morning and evening paper route for Huntington Publishing Co. He entered the University of Cincinnati in Sept. 1955 where he was a student in the Chemical and Metallurgy Dept. of the College of Engineering. During his college years, he interned at Standard Ultramarine and Color Company and later at International Nickel Company, both in Huntington, WV. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Chuck graduated in June 1960 with a degree of Metallurgical Engineer. June 9, 1979, Chuck was awarded a Master in Business Administration degree from Ohio University.
On Sept. 5, 1959, he married his college sweetheart, Helen J. Kuster. After graduation in June 1960, he began his professional career at Buick Motor Division of General Motors Corporation in the Buick Foundry in Flint MI. In January 1966, the family moved to Zanesville, OH where Chuck served as Quality Control Manager, Foundry Manager, and finally Vice President of Burnham Corporation. In Jan. 1985, Chuck moved with his family to Seven Lakes. After serving as General Manager of Foundry Services for a year, Chuck and Helen purchased Matthews Market in Pinehurst, which he managed for 14 years before retiring in 2001. Following retirement, he operated a small home repair business.
He is survived by his wife, Helen, four children: Laura K. Kramer (D. Scott) of Columbus, OH, David C. Moeser (Lola) of Upper Arlington OH, Daniel J. Moeser of Williamsburg, KY, and Matthew J. Moeser (Ellen) of Durham, NC, and his sister, Gloria J. Noll of Radford, VA, and his grandchildren William, Allie, and Stephanie Kramer and Reese Moeser.
Chuck has been an active member of his church wherever he lived. He served as an usher, a member of the Church Council of Pinehurst United Methodist Church and assistant financial secretary. He also served as a Board Member for Family Promise.
A memorial service will be held at Pinehurst United Methodist Church, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, with internment following in the PUMC Memorial Garden. Jabe Largen will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pinehurst United Methodist Church, or Family Promise.
