Jim Atkins, 77, of West End, NC, died Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.
Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, October 6, 2023 at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines with Rev. Stephen Ashby officiating. Entombment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Southern Pines. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM at the funeral home before the service.
Jim was a member of the Elberta Masonic Lodge in West End. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Atkins, and his siblings, R.J. Atkins, J.C. Atkins, C.A. Atkins, Ella Mae Laude, and Frances Oldham.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Barber Atkins, a son, Steven Mark Atkins (Jennifer) of West End, a daughter Rhonda Atkins Dutton (Clay) of West End, a sister, Beulah Currie of Rockingham, a sister-in-law Carolyn Smith of Hamlet, Grandchildren, Jessica, Amber, Brian, Dylon, Braxton, and Colton, and 7 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Rd., Pinehurst, NC 28374.
