Johnnie Linzie Burns, 64, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023 at First Health Hospice in Moore County, NC. Born May 29, 1959, he was the son of Christine Wilkes Burns and the late Linzie Burns.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, June 20th, 2023, at Browns Chapel Church, 619 Browns Chapel Rd, Robbins, NC.
Following the service, family and friends are invited to the Scarboro’s home at 6644 Murdocksville Road in West End. People wishing to drop off food may do so beginning at 1 p.m.

Johnnie graduated Class of 1978 from Pinecrest High School in Southern Pines, NC. He was a member of Methodist Baptist Church in Biscoe, NC. Johnnie worked over 12 years for the oil company in Carthage, NC and then 30 plus years with AmeriGas as a delivery driver. He enjoyed fishing; hunting and chickens. Johnnie loved picking up junk with his partner in crime Mike; helping the homeless; and cooking for church functions. Johnnie loved the Lord, and was a firm believer that all should get saved.
Johnnie is survived by his wife of 44 years, Margaret Scarboro Burns; mother, Christine Wilkes Burns; brothers, Michael Burns and his wife Mary of Erect, NC, David Burns and his wife Cindy of Seven Lakes, NC, and Ricky Burns and his wife Elaine of Carthage, NC; sister, Joyce Taylor of Aberdeen, NC as well as a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his uncle, Newbie Burns and his nephew, Jesse Burns.
