Obituary for Kenneth Tyree Mason

Kenneth Tyree Mason, formally of Cameron, NC was born August 11, 1989 to the late Phaedra Renee McCrimmon.  He passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.

Tyree attended Union Pines High School, transferred to Middle Creek High School in Raleigh, NC, and later received his GED.  Tyree had a passion for working on cars and hoped to be an auto mechanic one day.  He loved shoes and was very particular of his own to the point that he would walk funny (duck feet) so they would not get creases.  Tyree enjoyed watching sports.  His favorite teams were the Philadelphia Eagles and the North Carolina Tarheels.  Wherever he went he had a smile that would brighten up a room.  He loved his family and most importantly he loved his children.

Tyree had the privilege of being raised by three generations of awesome women, his mother Renee, Grandmother Linda Bovin, and Great Grand-Mother Emma McCrimmon.  They all were a great influence in his life instilling in him to take time for GOD, it is life’s only lasting investment.  They all preceded him in death along with his Great Grandfathers Robert Brown and Preston McCrimmon.

He leaves to cherish his memories:  four beautiful children Jada Mason, Ariona and Shaniya Jett, and Jayce Wrisley; his father Thomas Barrett, Great Grandmother Annie Brown, Grandfather Harrison Brown, Uncles Keith McCrimmon, Patrick Williams, Brian Brown, and Aunt Courtney Tuck; a special friend, Janicka Buchanan, and their unborn child; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 26, from 3-6 pm in the chapel of Pugh & Smith Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, January 27 in Stone Family Cemetery in Carthage.
