Mrs. Myrtle Locklear passed away to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 16, 2019 in the FirstHealth Hospice House at the age of 81.

Mytrle was born on May 17, 1937 in Robeson County. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Alfred Chavis and Danny Locklear; her grandchildren, James Pate, Jr. and April Pate along with her borthers and sister’s, Herbert Locklear, Clifton Lowery, Delmar Lowery, Mildred Bullard and Mandy Lowery.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Jennifer Locklear and her husband Donald of Red Springs, Jodi Lankford of Sanford, Debra George and her husband, Johnny of Raeford, Susie Chavis of Aberdeen, Carol Campbell of Aberdeen, Alfred Mark Chavis and his wife, Carol of Wagram, Connelly Locklear and his wife, April of Shannon; her brother, Ervin Lowery of Wichita, KS; her sisters, Juanita Clark of Raeford, Yvonne Locklear of Eagle Springs; 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 between the hours of 1:00pm and 2:00pm at the Raeford Evangelical Methodist Church.

Funeral services celebrating her life will begin at 2:00pm in the church sanctuary with Pastors Roger Burns and Wyvast Lowery officiating. Burial will be in the New Beginning Baptist Church Cemetery.
