Wallace Mack, age 85, of Vass, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at his home, surrounded by family. Wallace was born in South Carolina to the late Walter Mack and Bessie Missouri Mack. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, AnneMae, Betty Lee, Fannie Bell, Edna Louise, and brother, Walter.
A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Mack, and his children, Sharon Lacy (Billy) of Raeford, Wallace Otto Mack (Lisa) of Charlotte, Annette Kearns (Samuel) of Vass, Thabit Bey of Colorado, eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Wallace proudly served in the United States Army where he received an Honorable Discharge in March 1965. While serving he received a parachutist badge, code of conduct badge, emergency medical care training, basic airborne training, and basic training. He also attended and graduated from Sandhills Community College and received his bachelorās degree at the University of NC at Pembroke. He also worked for the United States Postal Service in Pinehurst NC until he retired. His passion and favorite sport was golf. He even belonged to a group called the Rolling Golf Group out of Harnett County. He prepared taxes as a hobby, and he was a jack of all trades and mastered them all.
