What began as a small outside fire on Wednesday evening quickly spread to a wooded area on an Aberdeen property and engulfed an abandoned car.
Fire crews from Pinebluff and Aberdeen Fire Departments responded to the fire on Allen Lane, just off of Pinebluff Lake Road.
Fire officials stated that the resident had been burning a small fire near the property’s wood line and that the fire had gotten out of control.
Thanks to a rapid response, firefighters were able to contain and extinguish the fire before it could spread further and endanger nearby homes. No other property or structures were damaged.
The N.C. Forest Service was also dispatched to the scene and provided additional assistance.
