On Thursday, the Robbins Police Department conducted a community betterment operation aimed at making the roadways and neighborhoods safer for the citizens of Robbins. This operation was developed in part based upon information received from concerned citizens on various criminal activity throughout town.
The operation resulted in the following charges and seizures: 31 citations issued including charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of open container/spiritous liquor, window tint, no operator’s license, driving while license revoked, failure to register motor vehicle, no insurance for motor vehicle, fictitious registration plate, failure to display registration plate, expired registration plate, failure to maintain lane control, careless and reckless driving, and inspection violations; two arrests were made resulting in charges of driving while impaired, possession of open container of malt beverage in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and resist, delay and obstruct a public officer. Approximately 3.5 grams of methamphetamine, various amounts of marijuana, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia were seized as a result of the operation.
“We would like to extend a special thanks to Sheriff Ronnie Fields and the Moore County Sheriff’s Office for the commitment of additional personnel for the operation as well as a special thanks to Chief Brian Beck of the Vass Police Department for their assistance provided,” said Robbins Police Chief Lawson Thomas. “We are thankful for our local law enforcement partnerships to seamlessly unite in efforts such as this to make the Town of Robbins and Moore County a safer place for our citizens. We will continue to proactively improve the quality of life for our citizens by identifying, eliminating and deterring all criminal activity.”
