Register of Deeds issues alert of fraudulent notary seal in real estate transactions

The Moore County Register of Deeds issued an important alert to real estate professionals and industry partners regarding the use of a fraudulent notary seal in connection with fraudulent real estate transactions. Notary Information is: Brian G. Tees Notary Public, State of Texas Comm. Expiration: 7-09-2026 Notary ID: 128322607.

The Register of Deeds Office has identified documents bearing a notary seal that appear to be fraudulently used. These documents may be associated with improper or criminal real estate activity.

This alert concerns the fraudulent use of a notary seal and does not presume wrongdoing by any legitimate, duly commissioned notary. The purpose of this notice is to prevent further misuse of notarized instruments and to protect the integrity of the public record.

What to Watch For

– Deeds, deeds of trust, satisfactions, affidavits, or other instruments bearing a questionable or unfamiliar notary seal – inconsistencies in notarial information, commission details, or execution dates – Documents that otherwise appear valid but raise concerns upon closer review
