A man on probation was arrested and is facing charges of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Sixty-year-old Donald Sheffield was jailed at the Moore County Detention Center with no bond.
“On August 11th, 2026, detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office assisted North Carolina Probation/Parole officers with the search of a residence belonging to a probationer in the 200 block of Sheffield Road in Seagrove,” said Moore County Sheriff’s Department in a press release on Aug. 13. “During the search, detectives located and seized methamphetamine, and items of drug paraphernalia.”
The release did not explain why the suspect was on probation.
He is due in court on Aug. 26.
Defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
