Robbins woman dies in Wednesday crash

A Robbins woman died in a vehicle accident Wednesday. The single-vehicle accident occurred around 7:15 p.m. in the 2400 block of Spies Road, about 5 miles outside of Robbins.

The car went down a large embankment. The driver was the only person in the vehicle.

With the heroic efforts of the family who rushed to the scene, she was removed from her car, and they began CPR. The young woman succumbed to her injuries on the scene.

Her identity has not been released at this time.

The accident is being investigated by the State Highway Patrol.

The accident is one of 12 accidents across Moore County Wednesday and the second fatality. The first fatality occurred Wednesday morning in Cameron when a log truck overturned. A driver of a pickup truck passed away at that scene.

Responding to the scene were Westmoore Fire and Rescue, Robbins Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriffs Office, and State Highway Patrol.
