The clerk immediately did an emergency shutdown of the pumps, evacuated the store, and had vehicles quickly moved from the area.
The canopy at the gas station suffered damage as well
The first fire units were on the scene within minutes and reported heavy smoke and flames. Fire units worked fervently to fight the fire and keep it from spreading to the canopy and pumps. They swiftly brought the fire under control and remained on the scene for an extended period of time.

There were no injuries reported, and the intersection of Roseland Rd and Sandpit Rd was shut down while they worked. Fire investigators will work to determine the cause of the fire.
