A 50-year-old man from Southern Pines is facing several drug charges following a search by the Moore County Sheriff’s Department.

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said in a statement on social media that George Williams was arrested after a “search warrant was executed at the conclusion of a drug investigation.”

The search was conducted in the 700 block of West New Hampshire Ave. in Southern Pines on Aug. 17. Detectives confiscated cocaine, marijuana, drug and marijuana paraphernalia, and $983.

Williams was arrested on charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for controlled substances, simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

His secured bond was set at $30,000. He is due in court on Aug. 31 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty. 

Williams was also arrested by Southern Pines Police in December 2022 on drug and weapon charges.
