A Department of Transportation plow truck overturned in Aberdeen on Sunday afternoon while crews were working to clear ice and snow from N.C. Highway 211.
The crash happened shortly after 3 p.m. near Domino Drive when the commercial plow slid, tipped over, and landed on its side along the roadway.
Authorities on scene told Sandhills Sentinel that the driver sustained minor injuries and was transported by emergency medical services for treatment.
The driver and the plow were from Hoke County, which maintains that stretch of the highway.
One lane of N.C. 211 was shut down as responders worked to secure the scene and remove the overturned vehicle, causing traffic delays in the area.
County and state officials continue to urge residents to stay home unless travel is absolutely necessary. Road conditions can be treacherous, especially as temperatures fall overnight.
Aberdeen Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Public Safety and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the incident.
