A Moore County man was arrested after authorities allegedly found drugs, firearms, and animal fighting equipment during a search of a home in the Star area, according to the sheriff’s office.
On Aug. 14, deputies reportedly joined Moore County Probation and Parole officers in a search of a residence in the 300 block of Edward Road in Star.
Sheriff Ronnie Fields said in a press release that evidence seen during the probation search prompted investigators to obtain a search warrant for the property.
Detectives seized suspected methamphetamine, amphetamine, drug paraphernalia, game fowl-related steroids, suspected animal fighting paraphernalia, firearms, and more than $2,900 in cash.
Dustin Brady, 39, of Star, was arrested and is facing charges of trafficking methamphetamine by possession; possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine; possession of methamphetamine; possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance; maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances; possession of a Schedule III controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; five counts of possession of a firearm by a felon; and four counts of possessing animal fighting paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s office.
Brady was booked into the Moore County Detention Center under a $750,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on Sept. 3.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
