An unlicensed driver and passenger are facing drug charges after a traffic stop on Thursday.
Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said in a press release that detectives pulled the vehicle over in the 1600 block of Highway 1 Business in Cameron.
“The traffic stop was initiated because it was known to the detectives that the driver of the motor vehicle was not a licensed driver,” said Fields. “During the traffic stop, detectives conducted a search of the vehicle. As a result of the search, detectives located methamphetamine and multiple items of various drug paraphernalia.
Michael Bass, 35, of Aberdeen, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and no operator’s license.
Bobby Wade, 48, of Sanford, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bass was placed at the Moore County Detention Center under a $8,500 secured bond. Wade was placed under no bond.
Both are due in court on May 2 and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
