Troy Puchalski of Sandhills Edward Jones broadens scope of financial expertise

Troy Puchalski of the Edward Jones branch based in Pinehurst/West End has expanded his financial expertise to include professional designations of Certified Exit Planning Advisor® and Certified Financial Planner™, or CFP®, certification, granted by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (CFP Board).

Puchalski’s firm offers services centered around financial strategies backed by advice, industry-leading tools, and resources to help clients reach their financial goals.

“I strive to continuously expand my industry knowledge so that I can stay on top of the profession and serve my clients better with strategies that can improve their financial situations,” says Troy Puchalski, financial advisor, CFP®, CEPA®, Edward Jones. “Investing in the success of my clients is top priority and deepening my knowledge in these areas enables me to deliver counsel based on the latest industry work and data.”

A Certified Financial Planner™ or Certified Exit Planning Advisor® offers specialized advice for individuals, families, and businesses in various areas of personal and business financial management. These areas include employer-sponsored retirement plans, such as 401(k) plans and Simple IRAs, exit planning considerations for business owners, insurance and estate planning, charitable intent and education savings, as well as tax-sensitive investing.

“The CFP® coursework gives advisors in our profession the tools and resources required to carry out the required standards of excellence in financial planning,” says Puchalski. “This means that our work translates into elevated service and more meaningful differences in the lives of our clients and our community.”

The March CFP® exam was administered to 3,683 candidates, the largest number of people to ever sit for a March CFP® Certification Exam. The pass rate was 68 percent.

“This unprecedented turnout for the March 2024 CFP® exam reflects the recognition of CFP® certification as the standard for competent, ethical financial planning,” said CFP Board CEO Kevin R. Keller, CAE. “As more Americans seek trusted and qualified advisors, the value of CFP® certification becomes increasingly evident. We congratulate all those who sat for the exam, and we look forward to welcoming the new CFP® certificants to our community of dedicated financial professionals.”

Based on the March CFP® exam results, CFP Board projects that the total number of active CFP® professionals will soon surpass 100,000 certificants in the U.S., representing about one-third of retail financial advisors.

CFP Board is the professional body for personal financial planners in the U.S. and consists of two affiliated organizations focused on advancing the financial planning profession for the public’s benefit. The board sets and upholds standards for financial planning and administers the prestigious certification so that the public has access to the benefits of competent and ethical financial planning.
