Victims identified in Saturday Woodlake double homicide investigation

Sunday afternoon, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office released the identities of the two individuals who lost their lives in the February 14 double homicide in the Woodlake community of Vass.

The victims have been identified as Kateryna Tovmash, 21, of Vass, and Matthew Wade, 28, of Hamilton, Mississippi. Wade was stationed at Fort Bragg. The incident occurred at Tovmash’s residence in the Woodlake community.

“Investigators have confirmed that Tovmash and the offender, Caleb Fosnaugh, had previously been in a relationship in Ohio,” writes the Moore County Sheriff’s Office in a press release. “The Moore County Sheriff’s Office asks the community to keep the families and loved ones of Kateryna Tovmash and Matthew Wade in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”

Previously, Moore County sheriff’s deputies responded around 7:45 a.m. on Feb. 14 and discovered Tovmash and Wade deceased inside the residence.

Investigators identified Caleb Hayden Fosnaugh, 25, of Ohio, as the suspect and obtained warrants for breaking and entering and two counts of murder. Authorities said they did not believe he remained in Moore County and issued a public alert describing the white 2018 Ford Mustang he was believed to be driving.

Fosnaugh was later located in Ohio and taken into custody without incident following coordination between Moore County investigators and multiple law enforcement agencies.
