A woman from West End is being held without bond at the Moore County Detention Center after she allegedly led police on a vehicle chase through Aberdeen and Pinebluff and then fled on foot. She had outstanding warrants from Randolph County.
Thirty-five-year-old Jessica Oldham was arrested by the Aberdeen Police Department on Tuesday after fleeing from a traffic stop.
In a press release, the Aberdeen Police Department said they attempted to stop Oldham’s car on Highway 5 and Sandpit Road for vehicle equipment violations.
“The driver of the vehicle, who was later identified as Oldham, failed to heed blue lights and sirens and lead the Aberdeen Police Officer on a pursuit from the city limits of Aberdeen, through Moore County, into Pinebluff, and ended outside Pinebluff in the County, in Addor,” said Aberdeen Police Department. “North Carolina Highway Patrol assisted and eventually took over the pursuit.”
Police said Oldham stopped her vehicle and ran into woods, where she was captured. Suspected marijuana was found in her vehicle.
Police said was wanted on outstanding warrants for driving while impaired, driving while license revoked, and reckless driving to endanger. Oldham was arrested on charges of felony flee & elude with a motor vehicle, driving while license revoked, reckless driving with wanton disregard, drive left of center, rear lamps violation, possession of marijuana, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
“She was taken before a Moore County Magistrate and was remanded to the Moore County Detention Center under no bond for her new charges, in addition to a $10,000.00 Secured Bond for her outstanding warrants,” said Aberdeen Police Department. “She was also charged additionally by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.”
She is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
