Obituary for Coy Hale Richardson

Coy Hale Richardson, 78, died peacefully Monday April 29, 2024 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born in Moore County to the late Coy and Rachel Pusser Richardson. In addition to his parents, he  was preceded in death by his brother Ralph Richardson, sisters, Catherine Richardson and Florence Clapp. He graduated from West End High School in 1966. He served his community as a member of the Pinehurst Rescue Squad, Aberdeen Lions Club, and served on the Moore Country Dept. of Social Services. He came to work with Boles Funeral Home in July of 1984, where he compassionately served the families of Moore and surrounding counties for almost 40 years. He loved “making music” and could be seen around town playing his banjo with the Ingram family.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life: tending to his garden and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. His green thumb brought vibrant colors and life to his surroundings, and his tender care nurtured not just plants, but also the bonds of family and community. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Tina Richardson ; his daughters, Crystal Lynn and Tammy Dutton both of Seven Lakes; grandchildren, Autumn, Rachel, Coy, Scarlette, Luke, and Nate; great grandchildren, Lilly’ann, Walker, and Griffin Hale.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Gregg Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Bethesda Cemetery in Aberdeen, The family will receive friends at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines from 6-8 PM on Wednesday evening.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 2237 Camp Easter Rd., Carthage, NC 28327.
