Moore County Sheriff’s Office releases their November 2017 Monthly Report.
During the month of November, Patrol Deputies averaged eight minutes and fifty-five seconds while responding to 3,232 calls for service. They served 325 civil and 103 criminal papers which included: 14 domestic violence orders, made 56 arrests, conducted 1,112 business checks and transported five mental patients. Deputies issued 146 traffic citations: eight citations for driving with a revoked license and 63 for speeding in excess of 15 miles per hour over the posted speed limit. The department’s volunteers contributed 221 hours during the month of November.
Sheriff’s Response Team conducted 64 traffic stops, five checking stations and 52 sex offender checks resulting in: 47 citations, one misdemeanor drug charge, and two sex offender registration violations. They also executed two search warrants and assisted Vass PD with one and hosted another North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program Saturation Patrol.
Animal Services admitted 108 dogs and 116 cats, returned thirteen animals to their owners, facilitated the adoption of 68 dogs and 35 cats and conducted 39 field and 107 shelter rabies vaccinations. Deputies investigated 16 animal bites and responded to 185 stray-animal calls.
Criminal Investigators arrested 31 suspects totaling 20 felony and 21 misdemeanor charges, opened 59 investigations and recovered $310,934.00 in stolen property. The arrests included: one for disclosure of private images, nine for breaking and entering/larceny, four for weapons violations, two for fraud, three for obtaining property by false pretense, three for drug violations and nine on misdemeanor charges.
The Narcotics Division opened 23 investigations and arrested 23 suspects on a total of 91 drug and alcohol violations; one suspect was arrested for doctor shopping/prescription fraud. Narcotic Deputies seized: 142 grams of marijuana, 165 dosage units of prescription pills, 22 grams of cocaine, 113 grams of methamphetamine, 278 bindles of Heroin and seven firearms; the estimated street value of all drugs seized was approximately $33,390. Additionally, Deputies conducted 102 ABC store security checks, seven ABC premise-outlets inspected and visited 111 additional ABC premise-outlets.
The Sheriff’s Office registered three new sex offenders, transferred one out of the county, updated the status of 36 offenders and is monitoring a total of 124 Moore County registered sex offenders.
In November, the department issued 260 pistol purchase permits, 74 new conceal-to-carry permits and renewed 71; totaling 7,698 Moore County citizens with conceal-to-carry permits.
