The Town of Carthage announced on its website it had a discharge of untreated wastewater on March 18 of an estimated 2,500 gallons along Old River Road.
An estimated 2,500 gallons of untreated wastewater was discharged into an unnamed tributary that runs into McClendon’s Creek.
The Town Utilities Division was notified of the event at approximately 1:25 p.m. All efforts to mitigate wastewater release were taken. Repairs were completed, and the system was returned to service in the evening. Cleanup and sanitizing efforts were conducted.
