Etta Alene Marks Flinchum, 88, of Aberdeen passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18th, 2020 at Pinehurst Health Care and Rehab in Pinehurst.

A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11AM to 12PM on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2020 with a service at 12PM at Aberdeen First Baptist Church in Aberdeen with the Rev. Darrell Cornett and Rev. Charles Hinson officiating. Burial will follow in Bethesda Cemetery.

Mrs. Flinchum was born December 31, 1931 in Aberdeen to the late Joe Lee Marks and Elizabeth McInnis Marks. She was loved by all who knew her, and was a beloved wife of 35 years to her husband, Jack, who preceded her in death. She was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt and friend with a beautiful heart. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family and she also loved reading books. She was a graduate of Aberdeen High School, and during her working years, she was well known for her retail sales career at Belk. She was a devoted Christian, always loving her Lord and her church family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years in 1987, Jack Glenn Flinchum; Two sisters, Ernestine Patrick Ashe, and Mae Marks; Two brothers, Thad Marks and Joe Marks, and a great-grandson, Allen Roberts.

She is survived by three daughters, Leigh Flinchum Rorie of Aberdeen, NC; Lynne Flinchum Patterson (Ronald) of Sanford, NC; Beth Flinchum Wentland (Chris) of Southern Pines, NC; Four grandchildren, Adam Rorie (Adrienne) of Wingate, NC; Jessica Rorie of Aberdeen; Renee Roberts (Bret) of Sanford, NC; Ricky Patterson (Kristen) of Sanford, NC; Six great-grandchildren, Andrew & Aiken Rorie, Ashley & Ethan Roberts, Kennadi & Grady Patterson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in memory of Alene Flinchum to the Aberdeen First Baptist Church.
