When one season ends, another begins. Fall sports are officially over for Moore County, but winter sports started last week.
NORTH MOORE:
North Moore, for the first time in school history, hosted a third-round football playoff game. The Mustangs were handed an upset Friday night by Pender County ending their impressive 10-2 season, 50-12.

O’NEAL:
The O’Neal Men’s Basketball team landed their first win of the season Wednesday night against St. David’s 55-43.
The Falcons couldn’t start a winning streak Friday as they fell to Freedom Christian Academy at home 77- 52.
The men’s basketball team ends the week 1-3 on the season.
The Falcons Women’s Basketball team continued adding to their winning season. After starting the season 2-0, they split their games last week putting them at 3-1 for the season.
Wednesday night at St. David’s, the Lady Falcons lost a close one 48-38.
Friday night, the Lady Falcons defeated Rocky Mount Academy at home 52-31.
UNION PINES:
The Vikings opened their wrestling season to a great start Wednesday.
They defeated Gray’s Creek 54-28 and also defeated Wake Forest 72-3.
SCC:
The Flyers traveled to Methodist University and earned another blowout win 107-46.
They traveled to Richard Bland College Saturday and lost a nail-biter 82-76.
This Week in Sports:
SCC:
Flyers will play one game this week at home against Spartanburg Methodist at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
PINECREST:
The Men Patriots Basketball team will begin their season away at Cleveland High School Tuesday at 8 p.m.
The Lady Patriots will play away at Cleveland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
UNION PINES:
The Men and Women’s Vikings Basketball team will begin their seasons Monday night at Jack Britt. The women will tip-off at 6 p.m. followed by the men at 7:30 p.m.
The men and women both will play at home on Tuesday night hosting Corinth Holders. The women will tip-off at 6 p.m., and the men at 7:30 p.m.
