Both drivers transported after Pinehurst collision

Two drivers were transported after their vehicles collided at the intersection of N.C. 211 and Juniper Lake Road in Pinehurst on Monday afternoon. The crash between a Toyota Camry and a Buick Envision blocked one lane of 211 just before 3:30 p.m. and took first responders nearly an hour to clear.

Both drivers were then transported to Moore Regional Hospital for immediate treatment.

The cause of the crash was unclear at the time of publication.

The drivers were the only occupants of their vehicles.

The Camry and Envision both sustained damage to the vehicles’ front ends where the two collided. The Camry took the brunt of the impact, with deployed airbags, shattered glass, and extensive damage to the body of the vehicle.

One westbound lane of N.C. 211 was shut down while emergency crews transported the patients, cleared the scene of debris, and removed the vehicles. Rockwell Towing quickly arrived to remove the Camry from the highway, and the Envision was able to be moved to the side of the road.
