Driver injured after car strikes log truck in Robbins

A car crashed into the back of a log truck stopped at a traffic light in Robbins on Wednesday morning, injuring the driver of the car, according to authorities.

Robbins police said a Kia Spectra heading southeast on N.C. 705 struck a log truck waiting at the intersection of N.C. 705 and North Middleton Street around 9 a.m. The impact shattered the Kia’s front and rear windshields and injured the driver.

Authorities on scene told Sandhills Sentinel that the truck driver continued down Plank Road, unaware that the truck had been hit. A Flagger Force crew working nearby followed the truck and signaled the driver to stop.

The Kia’s driver was taken to a hospital with multiple facial cuts and a possible concussion. The truck driver was not hurt.

Police said speed may have contributed to the crash at this point in the investigation.

Moore County EMS, the Robbins Police Department, the Robbins Fire Department, and the Moore County Sheriff’s Office responded.
