The Carolina Horse Park Foundation has received a $1.15 million gift from the estate of Faith Caldwell, one of the largest contributions in the park’s history.
The gift will reportedly help strengthen Carolina Horse Park’s long-term financial position and support its mission of preserving the land, promoting equestrian sport, and providing a venue for the equestrian community.
“We are incredibly grateful for Faith Caldwell’s remarkable generosity,” said Katherine Thornton, president of the Carolina Horse Park Foundation. “A gift of this magnitude is transformational. Faith has provided the Carolina Horse Park with an extraordinary opportunity to strengthen the Park today while ensuring that it remains a premier destination for equestrian sport and a treasured community resource for generations to come.”
Located in Hoke County, the Carolina Horse Park encompasses about 317 acres and hosts equestrian competitions, clinics, educational programs, and community activities. The park draws riders, trainers, owners, spectators, volunteers, and equestrian organizations from across the country.
According to the foundation, Caldwell’s gift is indicative of not just her support for equestrian sport, but also the open land and the community surrounding the park.
“We are especially humbled that Faith chose to leave such a meaningful legacy through the Carolina Horse Park,” Thornton said. “Her gift is much more than a financial contribution. It is an investment in the future of this Park and in the generations of riders, families, competitors, and visitors who will experience it in the years ahead.”
The foundation said it will use the gift to support the park’s future while honoring Caldwell’s legacy through continued stewardship of the property and its mission.
