No injuries were reported after a vehicle flipped in Carthage on Friday afternoon. First responders were alerted to an overturned car on a gravel stretch of Michael Road shortly after 1:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, emergency crews found that the car had completely deviated from the road, fully overturned onto its roof, and stopped in the tree line.Â
The vehicle was occupied by a man and a woman. Authorities on the scene confirmed that no one was transported to the hospital.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol was present and investigating the crash. No further details on the cause of the wreck were given.
As the unpaved gravel stretch of Michael Road was too narrow for traffic to navigate around emergency vehicles safely, commuters had to turn around and find alternate routes until the vehicle could be removed and the scene could be cleared.
