An Aberdeen man is facing charges of felony breaking or entering, felony larceny after breaking or entering, felony larceny of a motor vehicle, felony identity theft and resisting a public officer. Loren McNeill, 19, was placed at the Moore County Detention Center under a $40,500 secured bond.
The case began on Dec. 22, 2024, when investigators with the Aberdeen Police Department were called to a home at Bradford Dr. and Woodgreen Drive about a breaking and entering and a stolen vehicle.
“Upon arrival, Officers and Investigators were able to verify from the homeowner that her home had been entered without her consent and electronics, jewelry, a wallet containing bank cards, and her car keys had been stolen from within,” said Aberdeen Police Chief Brian Chavis in a news release on Monday. “They also verified her vehicle was stolen. Investigators were able to obtain statements from witnesses in the area and review electronic records from the stolen bank card.”
Authorities recovered the vehicle four days later, on Dec. 26, 2024.
Warrants were obtained on McNeill on Jan. 2. The Southern Pines Police Department apprehended him on Jan. 30.
