Two drivers avoided serious injury Friday afternoon after a collision in a parking lot at the Pinecroft shopping plaza in Taylortown.
The crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. and was initially paged to first responders as a collision involving heavy damage despite occurring in a parking lot.
Authorities on scene confirmed to Sandhills Sentinel that the two vehicles collided in the roadway, with a black SUV striking a red sedan. The impact sent the SUV into a nearby utility pole, while the sedan came to rest in the roadway.
The red car was left in a travel lane with significant front-end damage. The black SUV also sustained damage after striking the pole.
No injuries were reported, and neither driver was transported to the hospital.
Authorities at the scene did not disclose what caused the collision or how fast the vehicles were traveling. The investigation remains ongoing.
Traffic was temporarily diverted around the area while first responders worked to clear the wreckage.
