The Moore County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several vehicle break-ins that occurred around 3 a.m. on Jan. 27, according to the Seven Lakes Landowners Association.
The association emailed residents stating the five vehicles that were broken into were “within Seven Lakes Landowners’: North Side, Edgewater Drive towards the Stables, and on the South side, just below the Stables on W. Devonshire.”
All the vehicles were unlocked.
“Additionally, it is our understanding the perpetrator(s) were on foot within the community not using vehicles to enter/exit through the gates,” said the association. “If you live in one of the referenced areas as noted, and have information or find cam footage that will assist the police with this matter, please contact the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.”
The Sheriff’s Office is actively patrolling the community and is encouraging residents to lock their cars.
“And most importantly, always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious activity to the local police as we appreciate everyone’s assistance with these matters,” said the association.
