A 56-year-old man from Asheboro was arrested on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop and was placed in the Moore County Detention Center under a secured bond of $75,000.
Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said his department pulled over Marco Cheek in Carthage in the 8800 block of Highway 24/27, near White Oak Road, on Feb. 21.
“During the stop, detectives searched the vehicle and discovered 206.2 grams of cocaine, 39 dosage units of Xanax, drug paraphernalia, and $2,000 in U.S. currency,” said Fields in a media release.
Cheek is facing charges of trafficking in cocaine by possession and transport, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances, simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
