Two men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at Mac’s Breakfast Anytime in Aberdeen earlier in October, including one man who worked as a dishwasher at the restaurant.
Tommy Louis Ware Jr., 63, of Laurel Hill, and Gregory Lindsey McCullough, 70, of Pinebluff, face multiple charges stemming from the Oct. 9 robbery at the restaurant, located at 1904 N. Sandhills Boulevard.
The robbery occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. when an armed man entered the restaurant through an unlocked back door.
“The suspect fled prior to law enforcement arrival, but officers located three employees and two customers at the business,” reports a press release from the Aberdeen Police Department. “It was determined that an armed suspect had entered the business through an open back door, pushed all five individuals that were inside into a bathroom, and stole a customer’s purse, an employee’s phone, and the business bank bag containing approximately $700 cash.”
Officers with the Aberdeen Police Department and Moore County Sheriff’s Office responded within minutes and began investigating. A K-9 officer helped track the suspect and search for evidence. Officers later found the stolen phone discarded in a nearby storm drain.

“Over the course of the next two weeks, investigators utilized numerous law enforcement means and identified McCullough and Ware as suspects, and identified Ware’s vehicle as the suspect vehicle,” states the press release. “Information was also received that an employee working the night of the robbery was involved. After the execution of multiple search warrants, additional evidence was located to confirm McCullough and Ware’s involvement.”
On Oct. 20, McCullough was located in Pinebluff by Aberdeen investigators, FBI Agents, SBI Agents, and deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office. Asheville Police and U.S. Marshals located Ware in Asheville on Oct. 21, with assistance from the FBI. He was taken into custody and transported back to Moore County by Aberdeen investigators.
Ware faces 18 charges, including robbery with a dangerous weapon, multiple counts of second-degree kidnapping, felony conspiracy, felony larceny, assault by pointing a gun, assault on a female, interfering with emergency communication, possession of stolen property, breaking and entering, possession of burglary tools, and larceny after breaking and entering.
McCullough, who was employed as a dishwasher at Mac’s Breakfast Anytime, faces charges including accessory after the fact, felony conspiracy, aiding and abetting larceny, multiple counts of second-degree kidnapping, and aiding and abetting armed robbery.
Both men were held without bond.
The charges against both men stem from the investigation into the robbery. The allegations have not been proven in court.
