Checkpoint aimed to promote safety, Pinehurst Police say

Pinehurst Police officers conducted a driver’s license checkpoint Saturday afternoon on Linden Road near the entrance of Cotswold development.

Roughly 300 vehicles passed through the checkpoint from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Pinehurst Police Department said there were 11 charges:

5 no driver’s license 

3 registrations 

2 inspections

1 insurance 

“This checkpoint was an effort to make our local streets safer and to interact with our citizens,” said the department.
