Ritter won't run for reelection

Moore County Board of Commissioners released their August 21 meeting highlights.

~ Approved on consent agenda: minutes, budget amendments, local educational bonds – 2018 bond referendum capital project ordinance revision 1.

~Called a public hearing on September 4, 2018 at 5:30pm regarding request for a Conditional Use Permit for a school located at New Covenant Fellowship Church, 1305 Hulsey Rd, Carthage.

~Called a public hearing on September 4, 2018 at 5:30pm to consider text amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance.

~ Awarded contract to Courthouse Computer Systems to expand Register of Deeds Consolidated Land Records Index online.

~ Awarded contract to Instrumentation Services, Inc. for the Supervisory Controls and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for seven wells, two booster pump stations, and one elevated tank.

~ Awarded contract to Jet-Vac Equipment Company for a vacuum trailer for the Water Pollution Control Plant.

~ Adopted resolution supporting approval of a one-quarter cent sales and use tax to be used only for Moore County Schools capital construction projects.

~ Adopted resolution authorizing upset bid process for 3 Deerwood Lane, Pinehurst.

~ Appointed David Lambert to the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council.

~ Reappointed Matthew Rothbeind to the Sandhills Center Board.

~ Reappointed John Lowery to the Workforce Development Board.
