Crews contain fire to garage of home

Multiple fire departments contained a garage fire at a home in the Seven Lakes community in West End.

Seven Lakes Fire and Rescue said the blaze broke out around 5 a.m. Thursday. The residents and pets safely evacuated the home.

Firefighters with Seven Lakes, West End, Eagle Springs, Eastwood and Pinehurst were called to the scene in the 100 block of Pinecone Court. Smoke was showing from the garage and attic.

“E-631 arrived on scene and stretched a hose line, and West End units arrived on scene and began cutting the garage door to make access for the hose line,” said Seven Lake Fire and Rescue on its Facebook page. “Entry was made, and the fire was located in the corner of the garage and was quickly knocked down. Crews were on scene for an extended period of time checking for extension into the home and attic and removing smoke from the residence.”

The fire damaged the garage, and the home received “significant smoke damage in the areas closest to the garage.”

Moore County Public Safety is conducting a standard investigation into the cause of the fire.
