Crews respond to rear-end crash on U.S. 1

No serious injuries were reported when a car rear-ended a pickup truck in Aberdeen on Saturday around 1 p.m. The crash occurred in the turning lane on U.S. 1 and South Street.

The collision caused extensive front-end damage to the car and left it pinned under the rear of the truck.

The occupants of the car, two adults and an infant, suffered only minor injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured.

One lane of U.S. 1 South was closed while emergency crews worked.

Aberdeen Police are investigating the accident.

Responding to the scene were Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the Aberdeen Police Department.
