Pinehurst announces U.S. Open Showcase

DistiNCtly Fayetteville is making it easier to plan travel to the region for the 2024 U.S. Open with the launch of a new microsite. Developed by DistiNCtly Fayetteville in partnership with the Convention and Visitors Bureau – Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area, the microsite offers a one-stop shop to explore Cumberland County’s lodging, attractions, restaurants and more. The U.S. Open, which will take place June 13-16 at Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, North Carolina, expects more than 250,000 people to travel to the village and surrounding counties.

“With the U.S. Open heading back to the Pine State, there is excitement throughout the Sandhills as we prepare to welcome thousands of guests,” said Scott Meszaros, interim president and CEO, DistiNCtly Fayetteville. “Located an hour away from Pinehurst, Cumberland County will be on the radar for travel plans, especially as visitors travel through our Fayetteville Regional Airport. We invite travelers to spend time exploring the Fayetteville area and are excited to simplify the process with our microsite.”

The microsite helps visitors discover the area’s distinct offerings, all located just one county away from the tournament site for a quick trip between rounds. A convenient map offers a snapshot of points of interest, lodging options and golf course attractions. Those looking for a place to stay can start with the Lodging page, which showcases the area’s hotels, including those with special U.S. Open rates.

Visitors can also use the microsite to plan their stay, building an itinerary featuring the distinct attractions, restaurants and outdoor activities available in Fayetteville and Cumberland County. Golf enthusiasts can browse the county’s many golf courses, including Bayonet at Puppy Creek, Anderson Creek Golf Club and Baywood Golf Club. Other features include Things to Do, a list of regional events and activities for every interest, and Special Offers, a catalog of discounted rates for U.S. Open visitors.
